This page uses 51.507200, -0.127600 as the reference point for London. It is a city-level calculation, not a reading from your building. Use your exact location for your own bearing. Extra decimal places describe the calculation; they do not guarantee your phone’s accuracy.

## Why this direction?

We calculate the initial direction of the shortest great-circle path from these coordinates to the Kaaba at 21.4225°N, 39.8262°E. A flat world map distorts that path, so drawing a straight line between the cities on screen can give a different angle.

## Questions about Qibla in London

### Does Qibla in London change during the day?

The calculated 118.99° bearing stays the same while your location stays the same. Prayer times change with the date and the sun’s position; the Qibla direction depends on the two locations.

### Can I use sunrise or sunset to find Qibla?

Sunrise and sunset directions vary with the season and latitude. They are not a reliable substitute for this city’s calculated Qibla bearing.

### Why do two compasses disagree?

Check that both use the same location and true north. Magnetic north differs from true north, and metal or device calibration can affect readings. Compare the bearing values before comparing the moving needles.
